GRIN’s Adopt-A-Family Program a Success!

Working in partnership with Gahanna Residents In Need (GRIN), Gahanna DECA helped bring holiday gifts to fourteen families in our school district this week. Our Chapter planned and organized the event through sophomore homerooms and the vocal music program. It was one of those events where our Chapter members “received” more in good feelings than we gave out in presents!

Gahanna DECA Partners with G.R.I.N.

Earlier this week, Melvin & Dodie Miller from Gahanna Residents in Need (GRIN) came to speak with students about the important impact their organization has in our  community.  GRIN provides families with necessities such as school supplies, holiday presents, emergency home repairs, and much more.

Autumn Burton, Erin Law, and Julie King are leading our chapter’s public relations project and invited GRIN into our classroom after receiving a tip from another teacher about the great things they  do for people  in Gahanna.    After hearing GRIN’s “story” our chapter decided to make the organization the centerpiece for our community service activities this year.   Our chapter also looks forward to conducting a public relations campaign to help gain community awareness for GRIN.

City officials Mr. Matt Huffman and Ms. Leah Evans shared several key development initiatives that could serve as topics for our chapter’s  annual community  marketing research project.  More details of the latest city/DECA partnership will follow!
